A Lifetime of Truck Engineering and Safety Experience History
- 45 years in trucking industry, last 40 in truck safety
- 36 years engineering experience with leading US Truck manufacturer Navistar International (currently International Truck and Engine Group) including broad based involvement in the trucking industry at large
- since retiring in 1996 has worked as a truck engineering, research, and safety consultant with special emphasis focused on providing litigation support services to the trucking industry
Diversity of Experience
- 1960-1966; vehicle engineering design, testing (including vehicle safety/compliance testing), and product development. Managed critical-path scheduling of all major engineering product programs for one year of this period
A Pioneering Leader In Truck Safety
- 1966-1979; at the time when Congress passed the 1966 Safety Act Krall joined the Engineering Product Safety Group, assumed responsibility for that group in 1972, and maintained that position until 1979.
- 1979-1996; Krall was selected to head the newly formed Engineering Technical Legislation Group in 1979 and held this position until retiring in August 1996. In this capacity, Krall assumed additional responsibility for all areas of product regulatory activities including Vehicle Noise, Fuel Economy, Engine Emissions and World-Wide Regulations. However, the primary focus during this period was devoted to safety research, rulemaking, and coordination of Navistar’s government/industry affairs.
- In above capacity, Krall assumed a Proactive Leadership Role in Safety Research, Regulatory Rulemaking Process, and Advocate of Cooperative Government/Industry Sponsored Safety Initiatives

During his 45 years in the trucking industry Krall served on many engineering, research, regulatory, and standards-setting committees of the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (MVMA) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and expanded his diversity of experience by serving on numerous Global government/industry advisory committees including:
